Hottest New Wake Boat Features for 2015

Posted by

Wake Control

Tigé has this feature on lockdown with all new Surf X System featuring Surf Link. We have all seen adjustable wakes before but the new Surf Link feature on the 2015 Tige boats allows you to control every aspect of the wake while in the pocket.

The rider uses a remote control device that allows them to adjust the shape, style, length and height of the wave right from the pocket. Now creating the perfect wave is as easy as pushing a button.

Of course we cannot forget about the Malibu Surf Gate, a proprietary water diversion technology that allows you to change the surf wave from one side of the boat to the other…almost instantaneously. Talk about a time saver.

Fully Customized Boat Configurations

For several years now you’ve been able to choose your colors and features when ordering a new boat, but now the level of customization is going through the roof. Take a look at the “design your own” sites below and put together your dream wake boat. It’s also worth noting that metallic flake paint options seem to be on the rise for 2015 as well.

Electronics

From GPS, touch screens and rider performance mapping software, the electronics options onboard todays baddest wake boats rivals that of any top tier luxury car. Even so…boat manufacturers never fail to add to their available electronics options in an effort to amaze us and give us the tools to create the ultimate riding experience. Here are some of the highlights. Digital cruise control is pretty much standard nowadays but look to the Nautique Linc for your complete all in one digital control system. It allows you to control every feature of the boat from the super intense touch screen digital helm. Not to be outdone, Mastercraft has its Murphy Gauges, which are fully digital and offer control of the entire boat. Tige is the wake boat touch screen innovator and their Tige Touch2 may be the best option on the market.

Lights, Camera, Sound

There’s nothing we haven’t seen here before but these 3 areas are a must have for the ultimate in customized wake boat.

Lights break down into 3 categories, exterior, interior and underwater. You can use these lights to accent your boats interior, flood the surrounding area with white light or light up the wake so you can surf through the night. Check out the Lifeform 9’s if you want the best underwater LED on the market.

The end all be all for cameras is obviously GoPro. They have the most advanced applications and mounts period. If you don’t have one yet, I almost guarantee one of your friends does, so fire that puppy up and start logging some action.

When it comes time to pump up the jam, a good place to start is with the premium upgraded sound package from your boats manufacturer. All of the top wake boat companies are partnered with at least one top audio

Manufacturers like JL Audio, Bose, etc. After that, look to your local custom stereo shops for the best in tricks and mods as well as installation.

What’s Left?

For 2015 not much…

I have seen manufacturers rolling out so many new features that there’s likely nothing left for them to upgrade or enhance. Watch for more and more creature comforts like heated seats, noise cancelling headphones for the driver and on board hammocks. You will also see an increase in the number of huge engine options, like the 6.2L Ford Raptor by Ingmar in more boats.

As demanding riders and boat owners continually push the envelope of customization and want for “the next best thing” we will always see wake boat manufacturers continue to innovate when it comes to features and options. We’ve come a long way from my old Four Winns Horizon 210 with a Skylon held up by steel cable and buckets of sand in the engine bay.
